2019 Board Nominations, Elections, and Annual Meeting
The Nomination-Election Committee, which is appointed each year by the Board of Directors, has nominated the following incumbents for two 3-year Board positions:
Douglas Carden (incumbent)
Doug has been a member of LA Financial since 1984 when California Attorneys Federal Credit Union was merged into our membership. He held the office of President of CAFCU for two years and previously served on its Board of Directors. His volunteer service with LA Financial began in 1984 when he was a member of the Loan Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors since 1988 and previously was Chairman of the Board. He also currently serves on the Asset Liability Committee of the Board. Doug is an attorney in private practice.
Gail Legros (incumbent)
Gail has been a member of LA Financial since 1981. She began her career with LA County in 1973 and joined the LA County Fourth District staff in 1981. She was Supervisor Knabe’s Scheduling Deputy, responsible for the coordination of his schedule both downtown and in the field, and she oversaw the assignments of the support staff in the office. Gail retired in December 2016 and enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren, family, and friends. Gail has served on the LA Financial Supervisory Committee since 2000 as Chair and currently as a member. Gail was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013.
Any member in good standing may nominate another member in good standing for a Board position. The necessary petition and certification forms can be obtained from the Secretary of the Credit Union at the Pasadena Administrative Offices located at 1520 W. Colorado Blvd., week days from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The certification form must be signed by the nominee, indicating willingness to serve if elected. A brief statement of the petitioner’s qualifications and biographical information must accompany the certification form.
The petition must be signed by no less than 1% of the membership (295 members in good standing). Nominating petitions, certification forms, qualifications and biographical data must be returned to the Secretary of the Credit Union no later than 4:00 pm on December 28, 2018.
The election will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. If only one member is nominated for each position to be filled, the Chairman will declare each nominee elected by acclamation at the Annual Meeting, which will be held at the Pasadena Administrative Offices of the Credit Union, 1520 W. Colorado Blvd., on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 5:00 pm. All members are welcome to attend.
