LA Financial Credit Union was founded in 1937 in order to provide L.A. County employees with a safe, convenient place to save as well as to borrow - a financial institution dedicated to their best interest.

We now offer our services to everyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in, or businesses or other legal entities in Los Angeles County, California.

Unlike banks and savings & loans, every member is a co-owner, so there are no stockholders. We provide higher rates on savings, lower rates on loans, and free or low-fee services to our members.

We are not only a full-service financial institution, providing everything from checking to home loans, but we also offer a variety of electronic services, allowing you to access your funds 24 hours a day...Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere!

Three reasons why you should be with a credit union vs. a bank.

  1. Better Rates. As not-for-profit institutions, credit unions are generally able to offer lower loan rates and higher deposit rates than the banks.
  2. Valuable FREE Services.  Credit union members enjoy the service convenience of today’s technology, including telephone and online banking. LA Financial Credit Union provides members with no-surcharge access to over 1,800 CO-OP Shared Branch Network locations and over 30,000 surcharge free CO-OP ATMs.
  3. Membership Ownership.  Owned by their members (rather than outside stockholders), credit unions are focused on people – not profits. Members elect a volunteer board to oversee their credit union; the credit union’s resources are then directed toward the good on the membership as a whole. Credit Unions exist to serve their member-owners by helping them to make the most of their money.

Important information about procedures for opening a new account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license and other identifying documentation.
